Maureen Lane

Maureen Lane is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in both private practice and public service. Currently serving as State Solicitor Higher at the Chief State Solicitor's Office since September 2018, Maureen previously held the position of National Expert in Professional Training with DG JUST European Commission from October 2022 to February 2023. As the principal of Lane & Company from March 2006 to September 2018, Maureen specialized in Family Law, catering primarily to private clients while being a member of the Legal Aid Board’s Private Practitioner Panel. Previous roles include solicitor positions at O'Gorman Solicitors and the Chief State Solicitor's Office, along with experience as a law clerk at the Legal Aid Board. Maureen Lane holds a Grad Dip in Business Administration from the University of Limerick and a BA in Euro Studies and Law from the same institution, along with legal qualifications from the Law Society of Ireland.
