Vilhelm Ek

Vilhelm Ek is an experienced professional in the biopharmaceutical industry, currently serving as the Head of CMC Technical Leadership at Chiesi Group since September 2021. With a strong background in CMC development of biologicals, Vilhelm is a subject matter expert on drug substance and drug product processes, overseeing progression from development to commercial manufacturing. Previously, Vilhelm held the position of Head of CMC - Acting at AstraZeneca, leading the introduction of new products for clinical and commercial manufacturing. Prior experience at Sobi includes roles such as Manager of HTPD Strategy & Implementation, where Vilhelm focused on enhancing R&D productivity, and as a Senior Scientist, leading drug product CMC development initiatives. Education credentials include a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering & Biotechnology from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Literature, Art, and English from Stockholm University.
