Vice President For Public Policy And Engagement at Child Trends

Kristen Harper has extensive work experience in the field of public policy and engagement. Kristen is currently the Vice President for Public Policy and Engagement at Child Trends, a position they have held since December 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Director for Policy Development at Child Trends from December 2017 to December 2021. Kristen also worked as a Senior Policy Specialist at Child Trends from 2016 to 2017.

In 2019, Kristen joined the Annie E. Casey Foundation as a Fellow for the Children and Family Fellowship. Kristen held this position from April 2019 to January 2021.

Before joining Child Trends and the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Kristen served as a Senior Policy Advisor at the U.S. Department of Education from 2009 to 2016.

Kristen's career began in 2007, when they worked as a Data Coordinator at the Best Friends Foundation. Kristen then served as an Evaluation Consultant at Cambridge School Volunteers from January 2008 to June 2008. In 2008, they also worked as a Field Organizer for Obama for America from June 2008 to November 2008.
