Laura Thornton has held various roles in marketing and philanthropy throughout their career. Laura currently works as the VP of Global Philanthropy and Marketing at Children International since May 2019. Prior to that, they worked at ChildFund International as the Director of Insights & Partnerships from October 2016 to April 2019 and as the Director of Analytics & CRM from September 2013 to September 2016. Laura also held the position of Director of e-Philanthropy and Marketing at ChildFund International from June 2009 to August 2013. Before their time at ChildFund International, they worked at Christian Children's Fund as the Manager of Marketing Information from 2001 to June 2009. Prior to that, they held the role of EVP Information Services at Brann Data from 2000 to 2001. Earlier in their career, they worked as the SVP of Information Services at Response Marketing Group from 1998 to 2000 and as a Senior Research Analyst from 1995 to 1998. Laura also worked as a Market Intelligence & Communications Specialist at Gannett Newspapers from 1994 to 1995 and as an Advertising Sales and Marketing Manager at The Daily Times from 1991 to 1994.
Laura Thornton completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Duke University in 1991. Laura later pursued their MBA from the University of Richmond between 1998 and 2001.
