Amanda Morton is a dedicated mental health professional currently serving as a Clinical Therapy Intern at the Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County since August 2023. With experience as a Milieu Therapist at Children's Health since May 2022 and a recent role as a Student Counselor during a practicum at the SMU Center for Family Counseling, Amanda has developed a strong foundation in therapeutic practices. Previous positions include Registered Behavior Technician at Behavioral Innovations, IDD Service Coordinator at LifePath Systems, and Research Assistant in the Adolescent Development Research Group at The University of Texas at Austin. Amanda holds a Master's of Science in Counseling from Southern Methodist University, expected in May 2024, and a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin. Additional experience encompasses roles in retail and program services, showcasing a diverse skill set and a commitment to child welfare and mental health support.
Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County provides safety, healing and justice for children victimized by abuse or neglect in our community. We envision a community free from child abuse. The Center utilizes a multidisciplinary team approach to facilitate the investigation, treatment and prosecution of child abuse. Working collaboratively with law enforcement and Child Protective Services, the Center brings all services to abused children under one roof to minimize additional trauma to vulnerable children. Each year, more than 3,300 children and non-offending family members receive help from the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County because of allegations of abuse or neglect. All children deserve the chance to heal. There are no waiting lists, and our services are offered free of charge for as long as help is needed.
