Teri Lynn-Sears, MSW, currently serves as a Family Based Safety Specialist IV at the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, with additional experience as a CPS Conservatorship Specialist III at the Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County. Teri has extensive experience in child welfare, focusing on assessing children's needs and providing appropriate referrals after cases of removal from homes. Previous roles include guest services management at The United Family and various administrative positions in banking, supporting loan operations and customer relations. Teri holds a Master of Social Work from The University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of North Texas, alongside foundational education in Liberal Arts from Collin College.
Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County provides safety, healing and justice for children victimized by abuse or neglect in our community. We envision a community free from child abuse. The Center utilizes a multidisciplinary team approach to facilitate the investigation, treatment and prosecution of child abuse. Working collaboratively with law enforcement and Child Protective Services, the Center brings all services to abused children under one roof to minimize additional trauma to vulnerable children. Each year, more than 3,300 children and non-offending family members receive help from the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County because of allegations of abuse or neglect. All children deserve the chance to heal. There are no waiting lists, and our services are offered free of charge for as long as help is needed.
