The Children's Center of Wayne County
Laura Lefever currently serves as the Board President of NAMI Detroit, a grassroots affiliate of NAMI Michigan focused on mental health advocacy since November 2022. Simultaneously, Laura has held the position of Director of Community Partnerships and Projects at The Children's Center of Wayne County since November 2012, concentrating on collaboration with community stakeholders to support children and families. Additionally, Laura previously directed the Head Start Academy, ensuring quality education for children aged 3-5, and oversaw care management and enrichment services at The Children's Center from 1995 to 2012. Laura holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work and Criminal Justice from Wayne State University, with a strong emphasis on behavioral health advocacy, legislative oversight, and mental health podcasting.
