Elizabeth Lucey-Lenahan is a skilled psychotherapist with extensive experience in both individual and couples therapy, currently serving at the Psychotherapy Institute of Back Bay since August 2019, where ongoing training in psychodynamic approaches is a focus. Additionally, Elizabeth has been an outpatient therapist at Children's Friend and Family Services, specializing in trauma, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders since August 2019. Certified in the ARC approach, SMART, and Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Elizabeth also teaches yoga at Yoga Moves. Previous roles include crisis clinician at Boston Emergency Services Team, outpatient therapist at Advocates, research assistant at Brigham and Women's Hospital, community residence counselor at McLean Hospital, and intern at Steps to End Domestic Violence. Elizabeth holds a Master of Social Work from Boston College and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saint Michael's College.

Providing a voice for children… and supporting the families who care for them. Today’s families face a range of powerful issues- from depression to troubled relationships. These issues can have an enormous impact on everyone in the family – adults and children alike – and can have serious consequences in other aspects of their life such as school, work and in the community. In many cases, the best way to find solutions to these issues is through guidance and counseling. Children’s Friend Mental Health services are provided by 100 staff members and reach over 3,000 children and families each year with clinics located in Salem, Lynn, Gloucester and Lawrence. Our services are specifically designed to address concerns of individuals or the family ranging from relationship and behavioral issues to grief, anxiety, trauma, depression and stress. Children’s Friend is dedicated to making sure that our services remain flexible and family friendly. We accept a variety of insurance plans.
