Stephanie O'Toole is a Senior Clinical Psychologist at Children’s Health Ireland since November 2022, previously serving as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health Service Executive from January 2022 to November 2022 and at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust from October 2020 to December 2021. Prior clinical training occurred at NHS as a Trainee Clinical Psychologist from September 2017 to September 2020. An extensive academic background includes a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Queen's University Belfast, a PhD in Psychology from Dublin City University, and an MSc in Cognitive Science from University College Dublin. Research roles included Postdoctoral Researcher and Project Manager at Dublin City University and Research Psychologist at NEIL, Trinity College Dublin. Earlier career experiences include Assistant Psychologist at St. Michael's House and Social Care Worker at Solis Trust.

Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) was established in 1 January 2019. This saw Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin, Temple Street Children’s University Hospital and paediatric services at Tallaght University Hospitals come together and integrate into one organisation to deliver healthcare to Ireland’s children, in preparation for the opening of the new children’s hospital at St James's Hospital in Dublin. CHI governs and operates acute paediatric services for the greater Dublin area and all national paediatric services, some of which are on an all-island basis. It is also the client for the new children’s hospital project, including its two new outpatient and urgent care centres. As an academic healthcare organisation, CHI is leading on the clinical and operational transformation of acute paediatric healthcare through our triple mission of integrated services, education and research and innovation.
