John Schomberg

John Schomberg has a diverse work experience in various research and healthcare roles. John has worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of California, Irvine - College of Medicine since 2022, where they focus on research design and analysis in the risk factors of pediatric trauma patients. Prior to this, they were a Principal Biostatistician at CHOC Children's from 2019, providing statistical support for trauma and nursing departments and leading research on traumatic brain injury using machine learning and bioinformatics. Before that, they served as the Director of Bioinformatics at Afecta Pharmaceuticals, Inc., leading bioinformatics workflows, designing clinical studies, and utilizing public and private datasets for drug discovery. John also worked as a Bioinformatics Scientist at Afecta Pharmaceuticals from 2018 to 2019.

Furthermore, John has experience as an Oncology Dietitian at UCI Medical Center from 2011 to 2019, where they specialized in providing dietary support for cancer patients. John also worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California Irvine from 2013 to 2018, and as a Senior Renal Dietitian at DaVita Kidney Care from 2007 to 2011.

John Schomberg completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Epidemiology from the University of California, Irvine - College of Medicine, from 2013 to 2018. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Health Services Administration at UCLA from 2008 to 2010.
