Brian Johnson, CIPT, has a diverse work experience in information security and cybersecurity. Brian currently serves as the Lead Information Security Engineer at Children's National Hospital since August 2022. Prior to this role, Brian worked at MITRE as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer from April 2018 to August 2022 and as a Cyber Security Engineer from September 2016 to April 2018. Brian also gained experience as a Cyber Workforce Development Intern at CERT Division at the Software Engineering Institute from May 2015 to May 2016. Brian started their career as a Student Trainee at the US Department of Health and Human Services in June 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Information Systems from Oakwood University, completing it from 2009 to 2014. In addition, Brian has two certifications, including the DoD IA Cyber Awareness Training from the United States Department of Defense and the Certified Information Privacy Technologist from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals, which they obtained in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
