Eric Manuel Balmir, M.S., PharmD, CIM has extensive work experience in healthcare settings, primarily in leadership roles. Eric Manuel started their career at New York Methodist Hospital in 1988, where they held progressive leadership positions until 2017. During their time there, they served as Chief of Pharmacy and IRB Chairman, overseeing the Inpatient Pharmacy, Outpatient Oncology Clinic, and Institutional Review Board.

In 2017, Balmir joined Children's National Hospital as Vice President of Clinical Ancillary Services and Chief Pharmacy Officer. In this role, their responsibilities included patient safety, research, operations, regulatory and compliance, ambulatory services, finance, medical laboratory services, food and nutrition services, pharmacy services, performance improvement, supply chain, revenue cycle, and employee wellness and engagement. Eric Manuel led multiple departments, including Informatics, Clinical Pharmacy, Clinical Nutrition, Ambulatory Services, Kitchen Operations, Medical Laboratory Services, Investigational Drug Services, Pharmacy Operations, and 340B / Specialty Pharmacy. Balmir was highly regarded for their leadership, strategic direction, and ability to optimize operations for effectiveness and long-term financial stability.

From 2021 to 2023, Balmir served as Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer at Children's National Hospital, further contributing to the organization's success. Throughout their career, Balmir has demonstrated a strong commitment to ensuring regulatory compliance, safety, and delivering high-reliable care in both ambulatory and inpatient settings.

Eric Manuel Balmir has a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the University of Florida, which they received in 2010. During their time at the university, they focused on Pharmacy Administration and Pharmacy Policy and Regulatory Affairs. In addition, Balmir holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Pharmacology from St. John's University. Eric Manuel also completed a Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) degree from the Arnold & Marie Schwartz School of Pharmacy, with a double minor in Business Management & Advertisement and Hospital Administration and Public Health. Balmir has additional certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Basic Life Support, New York State Registration, and New York State-Pharmacy License.
