Jacqueline Newton has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Jacqueline began their career at Texas Children's Hospital in 1992, where they worked as a PICU Nurse Manager until 2007. From 2007 to 2010, they served as an Epic Project Manager. Then, from 2010 to 2017, they held the position of Assistant Clinical Director of Nursing. In 2017, Jacqueline joined Children's National Hospital as the Executive Director of Medical & Surgical Nursing and Director of Medical Nursing. In 2020, they transitioned to the role of Director of Medical & Surgical Nursing before leaving in 2021.

Jacqueline Newton completed their Associate Degree in Nursing at Nassau Community College from 1988 to 1991. Jacqueline then obtained a Baccalaureate of Nursing from Texas Tech University between 2004 and 2005. Later on, Jacqueline earned their Masters of Science in Nursing, specializing in Nursing Informatics, from Walden University during the period of 2007 to 2009.
