Kate Detwiler has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Kate started their career in 2000 as a Lab Manager/Tech at Johns Hopkins University, where they provided administrative oversight and managed daily operations in two independent research laboratories. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as a Staff Accountant at OPNET, performing accounting tasks and assisting the Controller in SEC filings. Kate then joined The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, where they held roles as a Financial Analyst, Program Manager, and Combatant Command (COCOM) International Health Engagement Program Manager, responsible for financial management, program oversight, and stakeholder coordination. In 2013, Detwiler established their own business, Detwiler Small Business Services, where they served as the Owner and Principal, utilizing their experience in administrative fields such as healthcare, software, and government contracting. Recently, they have been working at Children's National Hospital as a Program Lead in various divisions related to community pediatric health, adolescent medicine, and complex care programs.

Kate Detwiler attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Economics. Kate also holds a Secret Security Clearance from the Department of Defense.
