Rachael Jones

Rachael Jones has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Rachael started their career as an Information Call Center Operator and Computer Lab Manager at Northern Illinois University in 1993. From there, they worked as an Associate Editor for the Prairie State Chronicle, a Co-Editor for the American Marketing Association, and a Quality Management Administrative Assistant at ComPsych.

In 1999, Rachael joined Northern Illinois University again, this time as a Public Opinion Laboratory Telephone Interviewer and Refusal Converter. Rachael then worked at the University of Chicago as an Operations Manager and a Pre/Post-Award Administrator.

From 2007 to 2012, Rachael served as a Research Administrator at Northwestern University, first in the Office of Research Development and later in the McCormick School of Engineering. After that, they joined Northern Illinois University once more as an Award Coordinator in the Sponsored Programs Administration.

Most recently, Rachael has been working at Children's National Hospital since 2020. Rachael started as a Senior Grants & Finance Administrator and was later promoted to the role of Lead Grants & Finance Administrator. Their responsibilities at the hospital include proposal and budget development, financial monitoring, research portfolio management, and managing a portfolio of $18M+.

Rachael Jones obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in American History (United States) from Northern Illinois University, with a duration from 2012 to 2022. Prior to that, they earned a BA degree in Applied Sociology-Research Methodology and Analysis from the same institution, with a period from 1994 to 2000. Rachael also obtained an AGS degree in General Studies from Prairie State College, which lasted from 1996 to 1998. Additionally, they have acquired several certifications, including Conflict of Interest from CITI Program, A Division of BRANY in December 2020, CONTRACTING & SUBCONTRACTING from NCURA: National Council of University Research Administrators in March 2018, and SENIOR LEVEL ADMINISTRATION from the same institution in August 2017.
