Shivani vel

Shivani Vel is an experienced outdoor educator and healthcare volunteer with a background in human biology from Cornell University. Currently serving as an Outdoor Odyssey Guide and Physical Education Instructor at Cornell Outdoor Education since October 2022, Shivani facilitates outdoor experiences and leads a trail running class. In addition to this role, Shivani is a Patient Safety Committee Community Member at Kindred Hospitals, where participation in monthly meetings aids in ensuring patient safety. Prior experience includes serving as a Summer Fun Teacher at Morris Plains Cooperative Play School and a Research Assistant Intern at Children's Specialized Hospital, where data collection for a study on ADHD medication was conducted. Previous roles also involve community engagement as a Junior Board Member at Cornerstone Family Programs and experiences in retail and camp counseling.
