Luz Varela Morales is a licensed professional counselor associate and a national certified counselor, currently serving as a Bilingual Clinical Therapist at ChildSafe since July 2023. Prior experience includes working as a Mental Health Counselor at Communities In Schools of Greater Tarrant County from August 2022 to July 2023 and a Senior Legal Assistant/DOJ Accredited Representative at RAICES, where Luz provided immigration-related legal services to Unaccompanied Alien Children from June 2015 to July 2022. Earlier roles at RAICES involved delivering 'Know Your Rights' presentations and supporting UACs in legal proceedings. Additionally, Luz worked as a Bilingual Counseling Intern at Family Violence Prevention Services, Inc., offering community-based counseling to domestic violence survivors. Luz holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a Bachelor of Arts in Art/Art Studies from Bluffton University.

Our mission is to restore dignity, hope, and trust to children traumatized by abuse and neglect. ChildSafe is the first stop for children entering the justice system after sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, or witnessing a violent crime or domestic violence. As the only Children’s Advocacy Center in San Antonio and Bexar County, we provide forensic interviews, crisis intervention, case management, and advanced clinical therapy services to aid in the healing of child abuse victims.
