Kevin Yates CPRP has extensive experience in various roles within the field of park and recreation management. Kevin began their career in 2000 as the Executive Director of the Chillicothe Park District. In this role, they oversaw the operations and management of the park district.

Kevin Yates CPRP has a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Parks, Recreation and Leisure Studies from Eastern Illinois University, which they obtained from 1996 to 2000. Kevin then attended the National Recreation and Park Association Directors School at North Carolina State University from 2009 to 2010, where they studied Parks, Recreation and Leisure Studies. In 2009, they also became a Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) through the National Recreation and Parks Association. Prior to their higher education, Kevin graduated from Richwoods High School in 1996. In terms of additional certifications, Kevin obtained a CPR & AED certification from the American Heart Association in August 2022, a ServSafe Manager certification from ServSafe in April 2021, and an additional Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification from the National Recreation and Park Association in September 2021.
