Balakrishnan Chandrasekharan

Balakrishnan Chandrasekharan has extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Balakrishnan began their career at Tata Consultancy Services as a Software Engineer, where they developed web pages and integrated security systems. Balakrishnan then moved on to Applied Materials, where they worked as a Senior Consultant and developed a web certification system.

Later, Balakrishnan joined ATC-Onlane (now Openlane) as a Product Manager and Engineering Manager. During this time, they led the launch of ecommerce auction websites, managed cross-functional teams, and implemented SOA principles.

In 2007, Balakrishnan joined eBay as a Senior Product Manager before transitioning to PayPal in 2009. At PayPal, they held various roles, including Principal Risk Product Manager, Group Product Manager, and Senior Director of Product Management and Engineering. Balakrishnan was responsible for creating innovative credit risk solutions, launching new fraud products, and leading global teams.

In 2018, Balakrishnan joined SoFi as the Vice President of SoFi Platforms and later became the Vice President of Product and Engineering, Growth. During their time at SoFi, they focused on lending products, platform development, and driving growth.

Currently, Balakrishnan is working at Chime as the Vice President of Product Management. Balakrishnan oversees product strategy and management, leveraging their extensive experience in the field.

Balakrishnan Chandrasekharan obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computers from the University of Mumbai, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. Balakrishnan subsequently pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Strategic Management at California State University - East Bay, attending from 2004 to 2006.
