Patrick Toomey

Patrick Toomey is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in public benefits, case management, and education. Currently serving as a Public Benefits Specialist at CHIRLA since May 2023, Toomey previously worked as a Case Aide and in Client Services at the International Rescue Committee from January 2022 to May 2023. Toomey’s background also includes roles as an Assistant Manager at Big 5 Sporting Goods and as a member of AmeriCorps in the American Conservation Experience. Earlier teaching roles were held at EF International Language Campuses and EF English First Indonesia, focusing on ESL instruction and course improvement. Toomey served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Madagascar for two years, teaching English and promoting women's health and empowerment through sports. An alumnus of the University of San Diego with a Master's in International Relations, as well as San Francisco State University, Toomey holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations with a focus on Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
