Kathryn Cartini

Kathryn Cartini has a long and varied work experience. Kathryn began their career in 2002 as an Assignment Manager at Barrington Broadcasting Co., where they researched and coordinated news and feature story assignments, judged what was newsworthy, and assigned stories to reporters and photographers for coverage. In 2005, they moved to Cox Media Group, where they helped develop, organize, and manage daily news operations, contributed to web coverage, and assisted the Special Projects Team with research and undercover news assignments. In 2007, they founded and became CEO of Peacock Media, an Inbound Marketing + Creative Content firm servicing startups and venture capital firms in partnership with HubSpot. In 2016, they became COO and CMO of Upstate Venture Connect, a 501(c)(3) that connects founders with the people and resources needed to build high-growth companies and create more good jobs in Upstate NY. In 2017, they co-founded and became a partner at Chloe Capital, an impact-driven venture capital firm that invests in women-led SaaS and Marketplace companies. Finally, in 2020, they became a Venture Partner at Republic, an investment platform spun out of AngelList that allows anyone to invest in pre-seed to Series B startups.

Kathryn Cartini attended Syracuse University and graduated from the SI Newhouse School of Public Communications with a degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies. Kathryn also obtained a Statement of Accomplishment from the Kauffman Fellows in November 2017.
