Peter Flynn helps clients to maximize the value of their IP portfolios by preparing and prosecuting US and PCT patent applications across multiple engineering disciplines with a focus on biomedical engineering, medical devices, and energy. He conducts related research including prior art and infringement analyses, and prepares freedom to practice and invalidity opinions. His experiences include all aspects of portfolio development including office actions, appeal briefs, amendments, PCT demands, Article 34 amendments, restriction requirements, examiner interviews, and IDS matters, among others.
In addition to patent portfolio development, Peter also performs IP due diligence on start-up companies from the perspective of potential investors and lenders. He is also actively involved in several ongoing Inter Partes Review (IPR) proceedings in the communications and pharmaceutical arenas.
Previously, Peter worked as an Aerospace Engineer at GE Aviation, leading FAA engine certification campaigns as well as developing analytics for real-time, on-wing engine health monitoring. Peter also worked both as a Patent Attorney in GE’s in-house patent organization, and as a Patent Leader for GE Aviation, where he worked on strategic initiatives to protect GE’s intellectual property.
