Derek Morris

Derek Morris has had an extensive career in tax and accounting. Derek began their career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Federal Tax Director from January 2007 to May 2015. From June 2015 to March 2018, they served as a Senior Tax Manager at Cheniere Energy, Inc. Following their time at Cheniere Energy, Derek worked at Oasis Petroleum as a Managing Director, overseeing tax and accounting responsibilities from April 2018 to July 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Managing Director, Tax & Accounting at Chord Energy, which they started in July 2022.

Derek Morris attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1999 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Accounting at Texas State University from 2005 to 2006. Derek Morris also obtained a certification as a Certified Public Accountant from the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy.
