Murray B.

Murray B. has extensive work experience in the field of information security. Murray started their career as a Systems Programmer at the Ministry of Defence in 1985 and then moved on to become a Systems Programmer at GCS Ltd in 1989. In 1994, they were promoted to Chief Systems Programmer at GCS Ltd. Murray then worked as a Systems Manager at EDS (NZ) Ltd from 1995 to 1997. Murray then joined EDS as a Technical Architect and worked there until 2000. In 2000, Murray took on the role of Skipper at S/Y Kokamo. Murray worked as a Project Manager at Telecom NZ Australia (TCNZA) from 2002 to 2003. Murray then returned to the field of information security and held several managerial roles at IAG NZ Ltd, including Information Security Manager, Security Architect, and Manager Security & Architecture. Murray later became the Head of Information Security at IAG New Zealand from 2011 to 2015. In 2015, Murray worked as an Independent Security Consultant, contracting at the Ministry of Social Development, where they delivered NZISM artefacts/framework and security uplift. Currently, they are the Principal Security Officer at Chorus NZ Limited.

Murray B. pursued their undergraduate education between 1983 and 1985 at Victoria University of Wellington. During this period, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with Honors, specializing in Chemistry and Computer Science. In July 2010, Murray B. obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from ISC2.
