Xiaolei Gu

Xiaolei Gu has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Xiaolei currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Engineering at Chowbus since March 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Coupang for almost seven years, starting in July 2014, where they held the position of General Manager for Coupang China. During their time at Coupang, they contributed to their rapid growth and established them as a leading player in e-commerce in Korea.

Before joining Coupang, Xiaolei was associated with IBM in various roles. Xiaolei joined IBM in May 2004 as an Advisory IT Specialist for IBM Global Services, where they led a team and was responsible for recruitment, selection, and training. Xiaolei also worked as the Head of Engineering at IBM's Enterprise Marketing Management China Development Lab from January 2013 to July 2014. In this role, they managed a global product management and development team, focusing on IBM Smart Commerce EMM products.

Xiaolei also has experience with IBM DemandTec Solutions, where they served as the Director and General Manager of DemandTec China Development Center from April 2007 to December 2012. Prior to that, they worked as an Engineering Manager at IBM DemandTec Solutions from February 2005 to March 2007.

Earlier in their career, Xiaolei worked at CET Technologies Pte Ltd, Singapore Technology Engineering, and Bizzengine Pte Ltd in various technical roles. Xiaolei began their professional journey as a Research Assistant at the National University of Singapore in November 1997, where they gained valuable research experience.

Xiaolei Gu has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Fudan University. Additionally, they hold a Master of Science degree with Distinction in Information Technology from the University of Liverpool. Xiaolei Gu also holds certifications in 6Sigma (Green Belt) obtained in February 2012 and a Rank Certificate of Computer Software as a Software Engineer from the State Council Office of Promotion and Application of Electronics and Information Systems of China. They are also a Sun Certified Java Programmer certified by Sun Microsystems.
