Antonio De Lauri

Antonio De Lauri is an experienced academic and research leader currently serving as Research Director and Research Professor at the Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI) since January 2017. In addition, Antonio holds the position of Senior Researcher at the International Humanitarian Studies Association and is President of Public Anthropologist, roles initiated in November 2023 and January 2018, respectively. Previously, Antonio occupied several influential positions, including Director at the Norwegian Centre for Humanitarian Studies and Researcher/Lecturer at the Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca. Additional academic experience includes postdoctoral fellowships at notable institutions such as Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin and Fondation Maison des sciences de l'homme, coupled with a visiting scholar role at Columbia University. Antonio earned a PhD in Anthropology from Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca.
