Christ House

Christ House is a 24-hour medical respite facility for homeless men. Our patients receive high quality holistic care that includes medical care, mental health services, case management, nutritious meals, and addictions counseling. Since the founding of Christ House in 1985, we have had over 9,413 patient admissions. The mission of Christ House is to provide comprehensive and compassionate health care to sick, homeless men in the District of Columbia, and to assist them in addressing critical issues to help break the cycle of homelessness. We accomplish our mission by: - Providing hospitality - Supporting patients in their healing through a holistic approach - Empowering individuals on their path toward stability - Creating community In 2020, Christ House served 140 patient admissions and had 7,122 patient days of care. The most common conditions treated included trauma injuries (fractures, wounds, burns), diabetes, cancer, hypertension, respiratory conditions, and mental illness.
