Ed Sims

Ed Sims is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in leadership and strategic roles within the aviation and transport sectors. Currently serving as a Non Executive Director at Christchurch International Airport Limited, Virgin Australia, and Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Whai Rawa, Ed has previously held significant positions including Chief Executive Officer at WestJet and Airways New Zealand. With a strong background in international airline operations at Air New Zealand, Ed has driven financial and structural transformations across various business units. Ed holds a Master's degree in English from the University of Oxford and has been recognized for expertise in air traffic management and commercial aviation. Currently self-employed as a consultant and company director, Ed continues to contribute to the industry through strategic advisory roles.
