Shanti Pirovino

Shanti Pirovino is an experienced project manager currently serving as the SailGP Project Manager at ChristchurchNZ since November 2019, with previous roles including Event Development Manager and Project Manager during a six-month secondment for TRENZ 2020 Host City from Christchurch City Council. With a background as an Event Producer at Christchurch City Council from May 2016 to May 2021, Shanti also contributed to the Centre for Science Communication at the University of Otago, where a multimedia alcohol educational resource was developed for secondary schools. Additional experience includes serving as the Dunedin Branch Coordinator for the Science Communicators' Association of New Zealand and as a laboratory demonstrator and private tutor at the University of Otago. Shanti holds a Master's Degree in Science Communication and a Bachelor's Degree with Honours in Biomedical Sciences, both from the University of Otago.
