Susan Birkhoff

Susan Birkhoff, PhD, RN, currently serves as the Director of Technology Research & Education at ChristianaCare, a role held since January 2018 that encompasses leadership, mentorship, and education in nursing. With extensive experience as a Nurse Scientist, Susan has contributed to qualitative and quantitative research, innovation in technology and robotics, and the advancement of telehealth initiatives. Previous roles include the O'Neil Center - Pitt Scholar at GetWellNetwork, and a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Pittsburgh, where involvement in projects focused on design thinking and artificial intelligence was significant. A registered nurse for two decades at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Susan also held faculty positions at Villanova University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, further supporting the development of future nursing professionals. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Nursing from Villanova University, a Master of Science in Nursing, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Delaware.
