Sara Friedlander currently serves as Deputy Chairman and International Director, Head of Post-War and Contemporary Art at Christie's, a position held since January 2019. Previously, Sara held various senior roles at Christie's including Sr. Vice-President, Head of Department and Head of Evening Sale, and Vice-President, Head of Evening Sale from March 2014 to February 2018. Sara's experience also includes serving as Associate Director at Paula Cooper Gallery and multiple positions at Christie's from 2006 to 2013, such as Vice-President, Head of Afternoon Sale, and Specialist in Post-War and Contemporary Art. Early career experience includes working as Education Coordinator at Rose Art Museum and a summer internship at Lucas Schoormans Gallery. Sara holds an MA in Fine and Decorative Arts from Sotheby's Institute of Art and a BA in Art History, Creative Writing, and Gender Studies from Brandeis University.
