Anton Riedl

Anton Riedl serves as the Head of the School of Engineering and Computing at Christopher Newport University since August 2003, overseeing a multidisciplinary environment comprising 36 faculty members and a diverse array of undergraduate and graduate programs. Riedl has held various academic positions at the institution, including Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Physics, Computer Science and Engineering, where the curriculum includes six undergraduate majors and a graduate program. Prior to joining Christopher Newport University, Riedl worked as a member of the research and teaching staff at Technische Universität München, focusing on computer networking, routing optimization, and multi-service network design. Riedl holds a Dr.-Ing. and a Dipl.-Ing. in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, as well as an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.
