Jason Lyons

Jason Lyons is an experienced academic leader currently serving as the Associate Provost for Assessment and Accreditation and Director of Assessment at Christopher Newport University since February 2015. Previously, Jason held the position of Director of Assessment of Learning at the University of San Francisco, where responsibilities included training faculty in student learning assessments. Jason also served as an Associate Professor and Psychology Program Chair at Virginia Intermont College, overseeing various departmental operations, curriculum development, and institutional effectiveness initiatives. Earlier roles included an Assistant Professor at Tarleton State University, an Adjunct Professor at Tarrant County College, and a Teaching and Research Assistant at the University of Texas at Arlington, where Jason engaged in research, grant management, and faculty support. Jason began the professional career as a Support Group Facilitator and employed in medical settings, demonstrating a diverse background complementing academic expertise. Jason holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Texas at Arlington.
