Cody Kaup

Cody Kaup is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Chromatic, where they are responsible for implementing and maintaining features of the Chromatic stack focused on cloud-based services within AWS, GCP, and Heroku. Cody also handles forecasting future growth of the product and plans and prioritizes work for the infrastructure team.

Prior to joining Chromatic, Cody worked at Flywheel as a Software Engineer, where they built and maintained the platform layer in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using various tools offered in GCP. Cody also developed a custom API for other teams to interact with the platform and built a custom operator for Kubernetes to update infrastructure configurations with zero downtime. Additionally, they worked as a Site Reliability Engineer at Flywheel, where they created monitoring and analysis automation and collaborated with GCP engineering teams on platform issues and improvements.

Before their time at Flywheel, Cody served as a Threat Detection Analyst at NTT Security, where they analyzed network traffic and rewrote the primary log search tool to provide SOC analysts with more control over log analysis. Cody also created various utilities for analyst research using Python, web crawling, and public APIs.

Cody's earlier experience includes working as a Systems Engineer at 12 Points Technologies, LLC, where they provided system administration services and engineering consulting to multiple businesses. Cody automated repeat processes using PowerShell and Jenkins to decrease deployment and configuration times. Cody also worked as an IA Intern at Union Pacific Railroad, transferring quarterly audit scripts from Perl to Python and developing an internal application to analyze network devices. Cody started their career as a Systems Intern at National Indemnity Company, where they provided IT support to colleagues and assisted with technical issues related to business systems.

Cody Kaup attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha, majoring in Cybersecurity, from an unspecified start year until 2019.
