The Church Alliance advocates for employee benefits for faith leaders and their families, as well as the continued recognition of religious liberty and the unique governance structure of church benefits plans. This allows our member church benefits organizations to offer plans that provide for workers, while matching the faith and values of their respective traditions. Clergy and lay workers typically expect their benefits plans to align with their faith’s core teachings and philosophies. Church benefits organizations offer advantages to those who serve faith communities, such as: • Church benefits plans reflecting the denomination’s belief system. • Lower costs compared to what individual churches and clergy can access on their own. • Participation with a benefits provider with a mission, structure, and history of supporting the denomination, its clergy, lay workers, and their families. • Consistent support for itinerant clergy and their families. • Access to benefits in rural and underserved areas.
