Jan Šmíd

Jan Šmíd has a diverse work experience in IT, particularly as a Java and PHP developer. Jan started their career as a PHP Developer at Visiontech.cz in 2005 and also worked as a Freelancer at fv.cz - internet studio from 2005 to 2012.

In 2007, they joined Stickfish, s.r.o. as a PHP Developer until 2009. Jan then worked as a PHP Developer at Ataxo in 2008, where they contributed to the development of a Pay Per Click system.

Jan's next role was as a PHP Developer at Poski.com from 2010 to 2012, where they were involved in various projects, including network infrastructure design and implementation, web presentations, and the development of an application for the real estate market.

From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a PHP Developer at Pixmania, focusing on the development and support of the B2B/B2C platform "e-merchant."

In 2013, Jan joined Straitjacket Entertainment as a Game Developer, working on game design and development using Java.

Jan then worked as a PHP Developer at Dixons Carphone from 2014 to 2017, primarily focusing on the development and support of the B2B/B2C platform "NEMO."

Jan's most recent role was as a Java Developer at Tieto from 2017 to 2019, followed by their current position as a Java Developer at ChyronHego since 2020.

Jan Šmíd attended Gymnázium Ostrava-Hrabůvka from 1993 to 1997, where they obtained a maturity diploma in Mathematics and Computer Science. Jan later enrolled at VSB Technical University of Ostrava in 2011 but was unable to complete their degree in Computer Science due to a lack of time.
