Bruce Gan

Vice President, Finance, Planning, & Analysis at CIBC Mellon

Bruce Gan has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Bruce started their career as a Software Designer at Nortel Networks in 1992 and worked there until 1997. From 1997 to 1999, they worked as a Software Engineer at Tekelec. Bruce then took on a role as a Software Engineer (contract) at Ixia from 1999 to 1999. In 2000, Bruce worked as a Management Consultant (Summer Associate) at PRTM before joining Interstice Consulting LLP as a Consultant from 2001 to 2003.

Bruce joined Primus Telecommunications Canada Inc. in 2003 as a Product Manager, where they managed the Commercial Voice Portfolio. Bruce was promoted to the position of Associate Product Manager in December 2003. From 2004 to 2008, they worked as a Senior Consultant - Process Transformation at BearingPoint.

Bruce then joined Rogers Communications in 2008, where they held two roles: Senior Manager, Financial Analysis - Rogers Wireless from 2008 to 2009, and Senior Manager, Finance, Network Opex from 2009 to 2013.

In 2013, Bruce joined Cision Canada as a Director, Finance, Planning & Analysis, and later became the Vice President, Finance, Planning & Analysis from 2016 to 2018. Since 2018, they have been working at CIBC Mellon first as an Assistant Vice President, Business Analytics, Finance, Planning and Analysis, and currently as the Vice President, Finance, Planning, & Analysis. Throughout their career, Bruce has demonstrated their expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. Bruce has also managed teams and developed sales commission plans.

Bruce Gan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Queen's University, which they completed from 1988 to 1992. Bruce also holds an M.B.A. from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management, obtained from 1999 to 2001.
