Monica Porteanu

Monica Porteanu, PhD, currently serves as the Director of Strategy for Wealth Management Technology at CIBC, a position held since January 2023. Prior to this, Monica accumulated over a decade of experience at BMO Financial Group, where roles included Associate Director of Strategy for Capital Markets Technology & Operations, Senior Manager of Strategy for Wealth Strategy & Transformation, and Senior Strategy Consultant in both Wealth Technology and Enterprise IT Strategy & Planning. Monica holds a PhD in Informatics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, along with multiple advanced degrees including an MBA from the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management and Queen's University, a Master of Design in Strategic Foresight and Innovation from OCAD University, and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Bucharest.
