Monika Szponar

Monika Szponar is a seasoned professional in enterprise real estate and workplace transformation, currently serving as Sr. Director at CIBC since September 2011. In this role, Monika leads a team focused on executing strategic initiatives and operating functions for the Enterprise Real Estate team. Previous positions at CIBC include Director of Enterprise Real Estate and Workplace Transformation, where Monika spearheaded the bank's first design-build construction contract for 1 million square feet of office space and established a sustainability strategy for the new global headquarters. Monika has also managed corporate real estate strategy, capital planning, and sustainability initiatives in earlier roles, and represented CIBC in the Energy Initiative Leadership Council. With prior experience as a Mechanical Engineer and Sustainability Consultant at Integral Group and other engineering firms, Monika holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto.
