Navdeep Dhaliwal

Navdeep Dhaliwal serves as the Chief Risk Officer and Executive Vice President of Capital Markets and Treasury Risk Management at CIBC, a position held since December 2014, where responsibilities include leading teams in Market Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, Funding, Liquidity, and Pension Risk. Key initiatives include acting as Accountable Executive and Sponsor for the implementation of Internal Models Method (IMM) and the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB), alongside efforts in system and process simplification across risk platforms and executing a comprehensive Talent Management strategy. Prior to CIBC, Navdeep Dhaliwal held various positions at RBS Markets and International Banking from July 1998 to November 2014, including Deputy Global Head of Market Risk and Global Head of Market Risk for Asset Backed Products, and previously worked as a Market Risk Manager at NatWest Markets from December 1996 to July 1998. Educational accomplishments include a Bachelor's Degree from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a Master's in Economics from the University of Warwick.
