Lawrence Cowan is a Sr. Partner at Cicero Group and leader within Cicero’s data strategy and advanced analytics practice where he has experience helping Fortune 500 firms solve real business challenges with data, including attrition, segmentation, sales prioritization, pricing, and customer experience management. He also leads the firm in predictive analytics and big data related engagements, applying Cicero’s deep expertise in strategy execution to ensure data delivers ROI. He has partnered with companies to help them to shift from reactive to predictive analytics by collecting and analyzing real-time information and distributing it across the organization— allowing management to make better, faster decisions that move the business forward.
For the past three years, Lawrence has served as a board member of Online Tech Stores Inc., a private equity-backed ecommerce company, helping to guide overall data strategy and integration across multiple roll-up acquisitions.
Lawrence is a frequent speaker and thought leader in the data strategy space, speaking at events such as Predictive Analytics World for Business and Workforce, O’Reilly’s Strata Data and AI Conference, and CDAO Summits. His views and recommendations on data strategy, and advanced analytics have been published in CIO Review and Predictive Analytics Times.
Prior to joining Cicero, Lawrence served as a consultant to large organizations, helping them to leverage data, systems, and tools to improve efficiencies and reduce costs related to travel and entertainment expenses. He also served as a Research Analyst at Bassett, where his focus was developing automated sales reporting and analysis systems and processes.
Lawrence has earned a master’s degree in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University, an MBA in Business Economics from Westminster College, and a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Brigham Young University. Lawrence is Six Sigma Green Belt and Net Promoter (NPS) methodology certified.
