Michel Cyr

Michel Cyr currently serves as the Director of High Speed Photonic Components at Ciena, focusing on the development of high-speed electro-optic components since February 2016. Prior to this role, Michel held the position of Research Director at Teraxion from November 2010 to February 2016, overseeing next-generation product development. Michel's earlier experience includes serving as President and General Manager of Genicad Inc., where responsibilities encompassed financial management, HR, business development, and sales for a company providing mechanical and opto-mechanical design services. Michel's career began at Nortel, where responsibilities included managing a 10G EO interface design group and serving as an optical packaging engineer. Additionally, experience as an Optic Engineer at EXFO involved designing optical test equipment. Michel holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics from Université Laval, obtained from 1986 to 1990.
