Roeland Nuijts

Roeland Nuijts is a seasoned professional in submarine systems engineering with a career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as a Senior Consultant for Submarine Systems Engineering at Ciena since 2012, Roeland has accumulated extensive expertise in optical networks as an Optical Network Architect at SURFnet from 2004 to 2012. Previous roles include positions at NLO as an Intellectual Property Consultant, Finisar Corporation as VP of Product Line Management, OCLARO as Senior Manager of Business Development, and Alcatel-Lucent as Technical Manager and Distinguished Member of Technical Staff. Roeland began a career in research at AT&T/Lucent Bell Laboratories. Educational qualifications include a Doctorate in Optical Fiber Telecommunications from Télécom Paris and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology.
