Andreia Penado

Project Assistant, Education Department At Pavilion Of Knowledge at Ciência Viva

Andreia Penado, PhD, currently serves as a Project Assistant in the Education Department at Ciência Viva's Pavilion of Knowledge since June 2021. Previously, Penado worked as a Researcher at Tagis - Centro de Conservação das Borboletas de Portugal, focusing on the Portuguese Red List of Invertebrates from November 2019 to May 2021. Penado has also held roles as a Research Assistant at the Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa for an FCT project on threatened interactions (June 2018 - October 2019), and as an Invited Assistant Professor at Universidade da Madeira (September 2017 - February 2018). Earlier experience includes teaching positions and research internships, including significant work on bee ecology and conservation during a Leonardo da Vinci internship at the University of Stirling. Andreia Penado holds a PhD in Bee Ecology from the University of Sussex, an MSc in Conservation Biology, and a BSc in Terrestrial Environmental Biology, both from the Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa.
