CILEX

CILEX (The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) is the professional association and governing body for Chartered Legal Executive lawyers, other legal practitioners and paralegals. Our role is to enhance the role and standing of Chartered Legal Executives and all our members within the legal profession. We were founded in 1892 and became a company limited by guarantee in 1963. Since then we have been offering unparalleled access to a flexible career in law. We represent around 20,000 members and lobby for change and improvements to the legal system on behalf of our members and in the public interest. We offer a unique route to a legal career and becoming a qualified lawyer without a requirement to having a law degree, although law graduates and graduates with non-law degrees can also qualify as a lawyer through the CILEX route. Entry is accessible to those holding a variety of qualification levels. Through CILEX Law School we are a leading provider of comprehensive legal education and training. The CILEX route is the ideal way to obtain a law qualification for school leavers, graduates, legal support staff, mature students and those who already have family commitments.
