Laura Vera Álvarez is a Postdoctoral Scientist at Cima Universidad de Navarra since November 2021, previously serving as a PhD research student at Centro de Investigacion de Medicina Aplicada from October 2017 to November 2021. Laura completed a three-month research stay at Duke University in the laboratory of Dr. Purushothama Rao Tata, focusing on in vitro model formation techniques using organoids. Earlier experience includes a master's student role at Centro Nacional de Microbiologia de Madrid, Instituto de Salud Carlos III, where Laura conducted gene sequencing techniques for antimicrobial resistance identification, as well as an undergraduate position at the same center performing polyphasic taxonomy and molecular characterization of pathogenic bacteria. Laura holds a Master's degree in Biomedical Research from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (September 2016 - September 2017) and a Bachelor's degree in Biology, specializing in biosanitary biology, from the same university (2008 - 2015).
