James is a Managing Partner of Cimarron Healthcare Capital, where he is responsible for the firm’s operating and investing activities, including: sourcing, executing, monitoring and divesting portfolio companies. James has been active in the healthcare industry since 1998 and has been a principal investor in the industry since 2000. James is an active investor and board member with experience across numerous sectors spanning the healthcare industry, including: health and wellness, alternate site care providers, consumer-driven healthcare, benefits management, long-term care, healthcare payments, life science services, healthcare technology and technology-enabled services.

Prior to founding Cimarron Healthcare Capital, James spent 10 years at Genstar Capital, a middle-market private equity firm with over $3.0 billion in assets, where he led the healthcare services investment effort and was a member of the firm’s investment committee. Prior to that, James worked at MedEquity Investors, a healthcare-focused growth equity fund in Boston. He began his career as an investment banker at Lehman Brothers in the Global Healthcare Group in New York. James earned an MBA from Harvard University and a BA in English from Brigham Young University.
