Saiful Islam

Saiful Islam is a seasoned professional in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning with extensive experience in various roles across notable organizations. Currently serving as the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) since June 2022, Saiful oversees MEL activities in South Asia, specifically for the Cereal Systems Initiative. Prior experience includes a Program Officer role at UNDP, where responsibilities involved designing data collection tools and conducting evaluations, and a Manager position at Save the Children International, focusing on research and MEAL for Education for Youth Empowerment projects. Additional roles at Winrock International, Transparency International Bangladesh, and Concern Worldwide involved managing information systems, developing monitoring frameworks, and coordinating project activities. Saiful holds a PGD in Development Planning from the National Academy for Planning and Development, as well as a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Dhaka.
