Mike Giardello is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Newlight Technologies, Inc., a position held since 2023. They have previously served as the Founder and Senior Advisor at Materia from 2015 to 2017 and held various roles including Entrepreneur in Residence at the Alfred E. Mann Institute for Biomedical Engineering from 2016 to 2019, and Co-Founder & Chairman of Innovate Pasadena from 2018 to 2021. As a board member, Mike has contributed to Cinder Biological, Inc. since 2021 and has been a partner at Mount Wilson Ventures since 2016. Mike earned a Ph.D. from Northwestern University and has conducted postdoctoral research at Caltech.
