Magaly Pineda has extensive experience in promoting gender equality and feminism in the Dominican Republic and Latin America. Currently serving as the Coordinadora at Proyecto GÉNERO Y TIC since March 2010, Pineda addresses the gender disparities in technology and telecommunications. As the Directora Ejecutiva of the Centro de Investigación para la Acción Feminista (CIPAF) since its founding in 1980, Pineda has been instrumental in advancing women's rights and supporting the feminist movement. Pineda also has a background in academia, having served as a Sociology professor at Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo from 1967 to 1986, and as the founder and director of Escuela Nueva from 1972 to 1985. Pineda holds a Licenciatura en Ciencias Sociales, Sociología y Política from Universidad de Puerto Rico, obtained between 1960 and 1965.
